Owners of cigar bar in booming area of Downtown Meridian hopes to branch out

The Vault, a cigar bar in downtown Meridian, may soon begin selling liquor.

Owners Lori and Josh Evarts will appear in front of Meridian Planning and Zoning Thursday to request a conditional use permit to sell liquor. The owners have already obtained a liquor license from the old 127 Club that closed down in early 2020.

Evarts is also developing Old Town Lofts at 703 N Main St,in downtown Meridian— a short walk from the Vault.

Right now, the latest the Vault stays open is on Fridays and Saturdays until 10 p.m. The owners are hoping to extend those hours to the following; Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Vault is closed on Sundays.

“Our operating hours would increase to support more economic development in Old Town Meridian,” Evarts wrote in the application letter.

The Vault currently sells a variety of cigars, beer, and wine and is located at 140 E Idaho Ave.
