Real estate game show hopes to springboard off of Boise’s tight housing market

A new game show that plays on the Treasure Valley’s tight housing market is coming to Idaho’s airwaves and show creators are actively looking for local residents to participate.

The show is called List to Last and features five of the Treasure Valley’s top realtors and Idahoans wanting to sell their homes. Show creator August Johnson says throughout the show, the agents will have to guess the home’s pre-determined market value.

The three agents with the closest guesses will advance to the second round where the seller will select an agent to list their home based on personality and market knowledge.

‘Shark Tank-style’

“So, the first round is basically designed to kind of weed out agents that may not be familiar with the housing type or the submarket that the home is located in,” Johnson explained. “So that’s kind of the intention of round one and then the second round is kind of more of a Shark Tank-style with Q & A.”

Johnson says one of the perks of being a featured seller is that List to Last will cover the costs of a staging company, home warranty, and photographer. He adds that they are particularly looking for people who have a unique property or luxury home.

“Ideally for the show, interesting homes would be more interesting for viewers to see on TV, which, you know, lends itself to higher end, more luxury homes but we know that’s not always going to happen. So, at this point we’re just trying to find any seller that kind of sees the value proposition and what we’re offering.”

As for what channel the show will air on, Johnson says that is still in the works but it will be a local Idaho channel. List to Last will also air online. The first episode will debut sometime in August.
