You Asked: What’s going up at Apple St. and Boise Ave.?

We’ve received a flurry of questions about the construction activity at Apple St. and Boise Ave. across from Timberline High in Boise.

As BoiseDev first reported in January, Chipotle Mexican Grill will build a new store on the site, across the parking lot from D&B Supply and Starbucks. The chain serves up burritos, tacos and other Mexican-style favorites.

We now know that the Chipotle will include a drive-thru lane. It will be the first Chipotle store in the Boise area to allow you to grab food from your car.

The chain’s locations traditionally didn’t include drive-thrus, but in 2019 it started rolling out what it calls Chipotlanes. Once the pandemic began impacting the US, the company said it would accelerate plans for the drive-up service.

The 2,325 square foot restaurant will also include indoor seating and two food assembly areas – one for indoor dining and the other for the drive-thru. A landscaped area will sit at the corner of Boise and Apple, and a small patio is included facing the Starbucks store.
