A story BoiseDev members got first.
A new large Ford dealership could come to Meridian near I-84.
Idaho Auto Mall is applying to rezone and annex 25.67 acres of land near I-84 by W. Overland Rd. and S. Linder Rd for another Kendall Ford Auto Center. This is across I-84 from Ten Mile Crossing, a development BoiseDev told you about in April, and next to a potential future extension of Linder Rd.
Kendall Ford Auto Center would sit on vacant land near Camping World of Meridian and Southridge Subdivision.
The application letter says that the main use of the property will be for sales and service of motorhomes and large commercial trucks along with accessory sales, a parts department, an installation department for customizing, and a reconditioning area for used cars.
Kendall also operates a Ford dealership with new and used vehicles at the Meridian Rd. exit.
Part of TMISAP
The land is subject to the Ten Mile Interchange Specific Area Plan (TMISAP). It will have auto sales, retail, and office space.
“The development will include a mixture of uses that will complement the Overland Rd. corridor,” the project letter says. “The Kendall Ford Service and Sales Center will consist of two buildings with a combined square footage of 92,307. The plan incorporates a variety of lot sizes that will accommodate different retail and office uses within the development.”
Developments within TMISAP must also follow design guidelines laid out in the compressive plan.
“The proposed development incorporates the street network as outlined within the TMISAP,” the project letter says. “The plan encourages pedestrian walkways within proposed developments. The project has incorporated pathways as outlined in the plan.”
The Kendall Ford Auto Center will be in front of Meridian City Council on June 1, 2021, for a public hearing.
