You Asked: Here’s what’s happening at the old Skippers on Fairview

For years, fans of fried fish and potatoes could get their fix at the Skippers on Fairview Ave. near Curtis Rd. The restaurant, in the parking lot of the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market actually operated as Skippers twice.

Skippers closed last year for the last time, as BoiseDev reported last summer. At one time, Skippers locations dotted the Treasure Valley, but now they’re all gone.

Now, crews are inside taking out the kitchen equipment and other items – which prompted a flurry of questions to BoiseDev about what will happen.

Filings with the City of Boise indicate a used car dealership will open instead.

[You Asked: What’s going up at Apple St. and Boise Ave.?]

“Brad’s Bargain Barn, aka The Auto Scout LLC… plans to use the existing structure with no current plans to change building elevations or floor plans and to user the current landscaping and premises as a state approved used vehicle dealership…” owner Brad Larsen wrote in an application letter.

The small lot will include space to display 16 cars, with four slots for customers.

The City of Boise signed off on the plan in February.
