Inside scoop: New chocolate and gelato shop opens in Eagle


A new dessert spot opened this weekend in the Eagle Island Marketplace shopping mall.

Tifa Chocolate and Gelato is a franchise with other locations in California, North Carolina, and now, Idaho.

The new shop, located at the intersection of Chinden Blvd. and Linder Rd. offers a variety of treats including gelato, pastries and chocolates.

“A lot of love is put into everything we have in our store,” owner Sierra Auberg said. “We wanteveryone who comes into our shop to feel welcomed and like they are sitting in grandma’s kitchen.”

Auberg said all of the treats are made in house.

“We have games on our tables for families to disconnect from their phones and make memories with their kids,” Auberg said. “Our goal is to make sure ourshop keeps the family feel.”

Tifa Chocolate and Gelato opens at 7am Monday through Sunday with closing hours varying from 7pm to 11pm, depending on the day.

Auberg said she and her husband, Sebastian Auberg, hope to open more locations in the future as well as offer catering.
