BoiseDev announces expanded Growth Vote coverage: Helping you make informed choices at the polls

Starting this week, BoiseDev will launch its coverage of The Growth Vote 2021. As you head to the polls this fall to vote for who will represent you for city council, we want you to have the best information to make the most informed choice possible.

This year, we will expand our coverage from what we provided in the 2019 cycle – adding more geographic territory.

In Boise, senior reporter Margaret Carmel will profile each of the candidates running for one of the three seats up for election on the council. This year, the seats occupied by TJ Thompson, Holli Woodings and Lisa Sanchez will go in front of voters.

[Council district elections will start this year in Boise, but not Meridian, Nampa]

In Meridian, reporter Autum Robertson will profile candidates in the second-largest city in Ada County. In 2021, the seats currently occupied by Treg Brent, Luke Cavener, and Joe Borton will go in front of voters.

We will run these short profiles as each candidate announces to run (a few candidates already announced, and those profiles will run in coming days).

Also, this fall, we will bring back our popular candidate surveys (here’s a sample from 2019). These surveys allow you to hear from the candidates, in their own words, about key topics related to growth in our area. This year, we’ll expand the surveys to include four cities: Boise, Meridian, Garden City and Eagle.

We’ll also cover key candidate forums and major issues – and will bring you our live election night show again this year.
