Sun Valley ready for summer, with return of events and new mountain bike trails

Sun Valley announced its summer operation plans. 

The resort will start running the Christmas Chair and Roundhouse Gondola on June 26 for biking and hiking. And guests can enjoy these trails with the new mountain bikes available at Pete Lane’s. There will also be downhill and enduro bikes available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The chair and gondola will run Thursday through Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lift tickets are available here.

The Roundhouse, the restaurant perched atop Bald Mountain, will also open on June 26. It will operate Thursdays through Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At Roundhouse, Indoor and outdoor dining are available.

After a long year, events are back at the resort. Yoga at River Run kicks off on June 26 and will happen every Tuesday and Saturday at 9 a.m. Yoga on the Mountain starts on July 11. People can learn from instructors for $50 at Lookout lodge. Other major events such as the Sun Valley Film Festival also return this summer.

The news release notes that masks are still required on Bald Mountain when social distancing isn’t possible as it is federal land.
