The Idaho Department of Transportation issued a travel advisory for Highway 55 this weekend.
People planning on traveling on Highway 55 from Horseshoe Bend to McCall this weekend should expect high traffic volumes because of the weather and holidays, Juneteenth and Father’s Day.
On Sunday, ITD is placing flaggers at the Banks-Lowman Rd. and the ID-55 intersection to help ease traffic. Near the intersection, during the hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., ITD is telling motorists to “anticipate delays.”
“We have worked with our partners in law enforcement and the business community to do the best we can to manage what we expect will be a lot of vehicles on the highway this weekend,” District Administrator for ITD’s Southwest Idaho Office, Caleb Lakey said in the news release. “There’s a good chance we will have some times where the highway is at capacity and motorists will experience delay.”
There are also several constitution projects happening on ID-55. Including the road clean-up project between Donnelly and McCall which we told you about here. ITD suggested alternate routes include Highway 21 and U. S 95. More information on traffic and constitution is available here.
