Large clothing store applies to take over old Toys ‘R’ Us store at the Village

The remaining empty half of the old Toys ‘R’ Us building in Meridian could finally get a new tenant.

Burlington has applied to take over the building at 2070 N Eagle Rd in the Village at Meridian. Burlington is a retail store that sells an array of clothing, home decor, pet supplies, and more for a discounted price.

Sierra opened in the other portion of the space earlier this year.

The building will require a remodel and some demo work to turn it into a Burlington store. The application letter says they will add Burlington’s facade, install a truck door, and demolish parts of the ceiling and wall finishes.

“A new truck dock door will be installed at the backside of the building, along with two-man doors for egress out of the sales floor and back of house,” the application letter said. “A new opening will be cut for the compactor chute to be installed. One overhead door and one man door for the landlord’s use are being installed at the back of the building in the storage area that is not part of our client’s leasable area.”

Burlington has a few other locations throughout the Treasure Valley.

A couple of months ago BoiseDev told you that several stores and restaurants will open at the Village this summer including Cafe Rio, Plant Therapy, and Journeys.

The city has not set a hearing date for Burlington.
