Poke, smoothies and a bar: First restaurants in new downtown food hall announced

New dining and entertainment options are coming to a single building in downtown Boise.

BoiseDev first told readers about the Warehouse Food Hall that was slated to open where the former LOFT store and UP Cycle used to be on 8th and Broadstreet last December.

Now, the concept is starting to take shape after the Warehouse announced its first tenants. Paddles Up Poke, Rush Bowls, and the Loading Dock will all be housed inside the 29,000-square-foot food hall.

  • Paddles Up Poke, which has been in the Treasure Valley since 2016, specializes in poke bowls and sushi burritos.
  • Rush Bowls, which first opened a Boise location in 2019, serves a variety of smoothies, acai bowls, and fruit bowls.
  • The Loading Dock is a new bar described as “a no-frills spot for a shot and a beer,” that serves a selection of canned and bottled beer from breweries located around the country, served solo or with a shot of whiskey.

“We can’t wait to give residents and travelers in Boise a new scene for excellent food and drink, retail, and entertainment,” said Jeff Whiteman, chief operating officer at Geronimo Hospitality Group, which owns and operates the Warehouse. “The Warehouse is unlike anything you’ll experience in the area, and guests will be able to enjoy the community-focused marketplace’s unique offerings next year and for many years to come.”

Hendricks Commercial Properties, which owns the project, previously told BoiseDev that The STIL and Caffe Darte would also be part of the food hall when complete.

The Warehouse is scheduled to open in the spring of 2022.
