The City of Meridian received an application to add more townhomes to Fairview Ave.
Fairview Row Townhomes would bring 16 townhome residences to 2065 E. Fairview Ave. The 2,067 square foot townhomes would be three stories with full-size two-car garages.
“With walkable and bikeable access to so many daily need options in the immediate vicinity and a wide variety of goods and services, as well as employment opportunities the project team believes this is an appropriate and community contributing use of this unusual and awkwardly shaped parcel of only 0.871 acres,” the application letter said.
Residents would have two balconies that total about 200 square feet. Along with the balconies, there are 6,390 square feet of open space on the property. There is also commercial and retail nearby.
“These townhomes and well-conceived site layout will provide an opportunity for alternative transportation choices, enrich the vicinity with quality housing, complement the adjacent properties and greatly improve and update the visual aesthetic of the street frontage,” the application letter said.
The applicant is proposing six finishes with two different colors for siding, two stucco colors, and stone cladding.
“Side elevation faces the street frontages necessitated by the restricted width of the site, the variety of colors, materials, wall planes, and a mix of window sizes wrapping to the sides,” the application letter said. “Along the street frontages will add distinctive interest to the buildings in general and the street frontage in particular.”
Riley Planning Services will be at the Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on September 16 to request a conditional use permit for the Fairview Row Townhomes.
Pine 43 a huge subdivision in Meridian, which features residential, retail, and office space is building townhomes just south of this project on Wilson Ln.
