A new project could bring 42 townhomes to Franklin Rd. between Black Cat Rd. and Ten Mile Rd.
Ascent Townhomes would feature a mix of two-story duplexes and fourplexes. The applicant lists the duplexes unit’s square footage at 1,834 and the fourplex unit square footage at 1,839.
“The overall building designs of this project are cohesive with one another and incorporate architectural features on all sides of the building facades directly facing any elements,” the project narrative said. “The designs of the individual buildings have been thoughtfully composed to ensure that no two buildings viewed from a public street or public space are alike, through the variation of architectural elements such as roof planes, material types, and color packages.”
The fourplexes have two units per side, with the doors connecting the buildings in the middle. Both sizes have patios for tenants on the side of the buildings.
The townhomes would feature earthy colors such as greens and browns with some brick accents.
“The design of this project incorporates complementary material and color combinations that contribute to a cohesive building design and establish an architectural character that contributes to the aesthetic qualities of neighborhoods and protects adjacent property values,” the application letter said. “Durable materials and treatments such as cementitious lap and board and batten siding, ledge stone, architectural shingles, standing-seam metal roof panel, and glazing are used in combination with one another in cohesive color schemes.”
According to the townhomes layouts, the duplex and fourplexes have three bedrooms upstairs.
Each unit has a driveway and garage for parking. In total, the subdivision would have 112 parking spaces.
The elevations show a couple of walkways for residents and a variety of shrubbery planted around the units.
The City of Meridian has not set a hearing date for Ascent Townhomes.
