JR Simplot Co. expands into Ohio with acquisitions

J.R. Simplot Co. will expand its Grower Solutions operations into Ohio.

The family-owned company, famous for its french fries, just bought Precision Partners LLC, an agricultural retail and wholesale distribution facility that serves farmers in South Charleston, OH. It has future plans to serve growers in Tiffin, OH.

The South Charleston location and all 14 of its employees, and the Tiffin location and its team of 10 employees, will join the Simplot Grower Solutions team. The Simplot Grower Solutions team is made up of 2,500 employees who provide advice, products, and services to farmers to help them be more successful.

The target acquisition close date for the Precision Partners location is Sept.17, 2021, and plans for the Tiffin location are still being finalized.

“We’re thrilled to expand our products and services into Ohio and we welcome the new employees, customers, and partners to Simplot Grower Solutions,” said Troy Bolt, Vice President and General Manager of Retail Business for Simplot’s AgriBusiness division. “We look forward to bringing value to the growers and communities we serve and working together to contribute to feeding our world.”

In January of last year, J.R. Simplot finalized the acquisition of large agriculture retailer Pinnacle Agriculture. With the acquisition of these companies, J.R. Simplot says it provides supportive services to tens of thousands of farmers across the U.S.
