A large new industrial complex is planned south of Interstate 84 off Gowen Rd.
The Red River Logistics Center would include two warehouse-type buildings on a nearly 94-acre site at 951 E. Gowen Way, according to permit application records.
Boise-based Strider Group currently owns the property via its Red River Investments. Kansas City-based Flint Development is listed as the applicant on the filing with the city. The site was listed for sale for $14.2 million.
Two speculative industrial buildings are proposed, one 726,640 square feet in size, with another 162,450 square feet. Both would be tilt-up concrete structures. The application indicates parking will be provided for 594 vehicles, which is more than the 443 required. Space for 12 bikes is proposed, less than the 61 required.
Flint hopes to start construction in the spring of 2022 and finish by the spring of 2023. The project will need design review approval from the City of Boise, a hearing date has not yet been set.
Red River is one of a flurry of industrial projects in progress in the Gateway East Urban Renewal District established by the City of Boise. Projects are eligible for public dollars through tax increment financing for improvements in the public right of way, like streetscapes, fiber optics and infrastructure improvements.
