Proposed subdivision could bring more homes to quickly expanding Meridian area

More houses could pop up in a busy part of Meridian.

Zion Ventures LLC, a Utah development company, wants to build Moshava Village Subdivision. The project would bring 30 homes to 4540 W Franklin Rd and 4490 W Franklin Rd. near the corner Black Cat Rd. This area already has several housing projects planned, including Pera Place and Jamestown Ranch.

In addition to the 30 residential lots, Moshava Village would have three shared lots. The application letter said the lots’ average size would be 5,869 square feet. There are 60 parking spaces, including garages, throughout the entire development.

The application letter said there are ‘adequate’ public services in the area to add more housing. 

“Water and sewer will be extended from Franklin Rd. The development will be served with the public sewer and water by City of Meridian,” the application letter said. “Fire protection will be available through the Meridian Fire Department. Strom water will be retained on-site and designed by a civil engineer in accordance with City of Meridian requirements.”

Zion Ventures is looking for a preliminary plat, annexation, and zoning approval.The applicant will be in front of the Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission on November 4.
