Downtown pizza place closes for good, donates remaining food

A downtown Boise pizza joint is closing its doors for good.

Firenza Pizza, located at the base of the One Capital Center building, says supply chain issues and workforce challenges have led to the difficult decision to close.

“We gave all we could do and many came together to support us, however the harsh reality is that downtown Boise is still not back to pre-pandemic activity,” the restaurant posted on Facebook.

Firenza Pizza plans to donate all remaining meals and inventory to those in need. Community members can contribute by selecting the “$10 for those in need” option on the restaurant’s website.

The pizza place also says they are assisting staff to find new employment. Any businesses looking to hire can contact the restaurant.

Firenza writes that the restaurant might open up one final time next week for a night of music and dancing. The announcement will be made on its Facebook page.

“We love you, Boise. We are grateful to have served you,” Firenza Pizza writes.

Firenza Pizza first opened in 2018.
