Event recognizes group of Idaho businesses attaining “A round” funding

A virtual event Wednesday recognized seven Idaho startups that achieved a crucial milestone for growing startups.

The Fifty to the A event celebrated the Idaho organizations that have achieved what’s known as “A round” financing since 2020. That means the business took outside money to help grow the business and put it on a path toward sustainability.

BoiseDev first told you about the Fifty to the A initiative in 2020. The concept is to use a mix of tools to help fifty businesses hit the A-round benchmark, and celebrate successes along the way.

“It’s a more robust ecosystem now. There are more opportunities in Idaho,” Blake Hansen with Alturas said during the event. “Boise is on the map for a lot of reasons. It used to be you needed to leave and go somewhere else, but that’s not the case anymore. It’s a different day and it’s a different story. These companies are starting here, they’re thriving here and they’re attracting capital here.”
