Something other than beer is brewing at Edge

Edge Brewing has been brewing beer in Boise since 2014. Now, it’s stepping outside of hops and making cocktails in a can.

Off the Clock canned cocktails are made with vodka at Edge’s distillery in west Boise.

“It was a lot of experimenting and trial and error but we decided to stick with Vodka cocktails for now and eventually venture out to other types of spirits in the future,” Marketing Manager Jaclyn Hall said.

There are four different kinds of cocktails, including the vodka mule, cosmopolitan, peach tea and vodka and strawberry rhubarb lemon drop.

“The process of making cocktails in our distillery allows our brewery to operate at the same capacity and not affect fermentation schedules,” Hall said. “It is a win-win being able to create a variety and add to our lineup while still keeping our production going and crafting beer and cider through the brewery.”

The Vodka Mule & Cosmopolitan are being sold at 22 Albertsons in the Treasure Valley. Hall said they hope they will carry the Peach Tea and Strawberry Rhubarb Lemon Drop within the next year.

Edge brewing will also carry the canned cocktails at its two locations – the one off of Steelhead Way in Boise and at its 10th street location in downtown Boise.
