Downtown sandwich restaurant to open second location along with ice cream shop in growing part of Boise

“And all that I can see is just another lemon tree.”

German band Fools Garden sang about looking at another lemon tree in their 1995 hit Lemon Tree. Now, residents in East Boise will soon see their own Lemon Tree.

Permit records with the City of Boise show downtown Boise artisan sandwich restaurant Lemon Tree Co. will launch a second location on Eckert Rd. in Barber Valley. The shop will join ice cream shop The STIL.

The existing shop will get a slight revamp to remove an office and add a new service area to serve sandwiches and drinks. The existing dining room and patio space will serve both ice cream and sandwich seekers.

Lemon Tree opened in the former Bleubird sandwich space on Bannock St. in Downtown Boise in 2018, with a similar menu of high-end sandwiches and salads.

The STIL already features a small number of offerings from Lemon Tree in its Barber Valley store, and has hosted Lemon Tree pop-ups.

The shop will open in a part of Boise generally underserved by restaurants. The Barber Valley area currently includes Lucky 13, Lost Shack, Coffee Mill, and The STIL. The population continues to grow as the Harris Ranch and other housing developments complete buildout.
