For many, the holiday season is a time to give back to those in need in our community. This week, we are taking a look at the different ways to donate this year and today we are specifically looking at ways to give in-kind donations.
According to several non-profit websites, food, toys, and basic supplies are greatly needed right now.
Ways to give in-kind donations:
- Idaho Food Bank – Food drive locations
- Marine Toys for Tots – List of drop boxes at dozens of local businesses
- Salvation Army – List of ways to drop off clothes, furniture and other items
- Interfaith Sanctuary Wish List – List of items to buy from Amazon
- Other ways you can help
- Boise Rescue Mission Amazon Wish List – List of urgent items in need that you can buy from Amazon
- Boise Rescue Mission Walmart Wish List – List of urgent items from Walmart
- Other items that can be dropped off directly
- Women and Children’s Alliance needed items – List of items needed
- Face of Hope Wish List – List of items needed
While this list covers some of the larger non-profit organizations, there are dozens of smaller ones accepting in-kind donations this season.
For example, Hello Meridian just posted on Instagram a call from the West Ada School District for basic necessities for its students. For more information, click here.
Tomorrow, we take a look at volunteering opportunities in the Treasure Valley this year.
