The flamboyance of Franz Witte flamingos flocked to Nampa last year.

Now, a City of Boise pre-application filing indicates new single and multi-family housing could replace the former site of the garden and landscape nursery.

As BoiseDev previously reported, Franz Witte moved from its 9744 W State St. location in Boise to a new destination garden center in Nampa. Documents filed with the city show that Shari Stiles of Engineering Solutions could bring an application to add 256 apartments units and single-family housing to the State St. site.

The housing would sit on 18.14 acres. Property records show Corey Barton owns the parcels. He’s the principal in CBH Homes.

The site plans calls for nine apartment buildings spread across the lot with an area that includes a pool and clubhouse.

Across W. Leighton St., the plan has a nearly nine-acre section labeled ‘townhouse site.’ Plans can evolve from pre-application to the formal application stage.

The record details say that the project could include an “affordability component to increase density.”

The development would have on-site parking and bike parking.

The applicant will need design approval, and the green light from both ACHD and ITD before the project can move forward. It would need approval from the city for the subdivision, as well as design review.
