Lost Grove becomes first B Corp certified brewery in Idaho

Lost Grove Brewing, which is located across from the Boise State Campus off of Capital Boulevard, is one of 19 breweries in the nation to earn a B Corp certification. It’s also the first brewery in Idaho to become B Corp certified.

In order to earn the certification, Lost Grove had to meet B Corp’s standards and work to consider the impact of its decisions on its workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment.

“Since we opened our doors four years ago, Lost Grove has focused on sustainability, social responsibility, community, and, of course, great beer,” Lost Grove owner Jake Black said.

There are many ways that Lost Grove worked to earn the certification including using more solar power throughout its brewery, working to reduce carbon emission and also giving incentives to staff to volunteer, to name a few.

“It is a way for us to formalize our commitments to the environment, our community, and our employees,” Lost Grove general manager Kylie Bolland said. “We are now part of the B Corp community, which can provide us with more resources and education on how to be constantly improving.”

Other B Corp certified companies in Idaho include Lovevery, Warm Springs Consulting LLC and Treefort Music Fest.
