In the market for a winery? This Idaho vineyard is listed for sale

After planting roots in the Lewis-Clark Valley in 2012, the owners of the Lindsay Creek Vineyards are hanging up their wine-making hats and selling their winery.

Currently listed for $2,690,000, the vineyard sits on more than 22 acres in the Lewis-Clark Valley near the north Idaho town of Lewiston. It comes with a 15,422-square-foot production facility with half an acre of grapes. The varietals currently growing include riesling, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and tempranillo.

There’s a road, schools, and a village. But where’s the Lake Hazel… lake?

According to the listing, production equipment includes tank and fermenters, wine bottle filler, barrels, distillation stills, grape processing, and crush facility. There is also an event space and tasting room that can hold over 100 people.

Owners and brothers Art and Doug McIntosh and their wives, Michelle and Brenda, are fourth-generation grain farmers in Lewiston. In 2006, they planted their first crop of 150 sticks of grapes. In 2017, the winemakers won the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Agriculture for Marketing Innovation.

Now, over a decade later, McIntosh said it’s time for new owners to step in.

“Some health issues, new grandchildren and just slowing down are a few of the reasons we would like to turn the page and allow someone else to enjoy the very satisfying and fun job of running a winery and event center.”

Along with hosting events, Lindsay Creek sells its wine at the winery, online, distributes wholesale through a wine club.

“I would hope that they continue to make award-winning wines, provide one of the premier event locations in the quad-cities, have live music every weekend, and welcome both new and existing wine lovers to the Lewis-Clark Valley,” McIntosh said of the future owners.
