Large apartment complex could pop up near the Village

An apartment complex with more than 400 units is planned for an area near the Village at Meridian. 

Records Apartments would sit at the northeast corner of Fairview Ave. and Records Way, adjacent to CarMax. 

The almost 10-acre site would have 472 “urban-style” units with a mix of 84 studios, 208 one-bedrooms, 168 two-bedrooms, and 12 three-bedroom units. The apartments would range in size from 586 to 1,242 square feet.

The Record Apartments’ clubhouse would feature several lounges, a gaming room, a kitchen, a fitness center, pet spa, zoom conference rooms, and more. Outside amenities include a pool and year-round spa, BBQ grill, benches, table tennis, and a pool lounge. 

The complex would also be close to Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park- which has a host of its own amenities.

The City of Meridian requires 804 parking spaces for a complex this size- Brighton Corporation is proving 815, with 338 uncovered, 14 covered surface parking spaces, and 463 covered podium parking spaces. There are also plans for electric charging stations and 30 bike racks. 

The project would be constructed in two phases. The first would consist of the north residential building, some parking, and amenities, including the pool. The second phase would include the south residential building, parking, the courtyard, and more amenities. 

Brighton Corporation will be in front of planning and zoning on March 17, looking for a conditional use permit and alternate compliance variation approval.
