Brown Park in McCall to wrap up construction with hope of opening memorial day

Share:

Construction is starting up again on McCall’s Brown Park.

Brown Park sits north of E Lake St. and Hemlock St. on the former McCall Mill site near the waterfront. For the last couple of years, the city has been working on various park improvements.

Phase one of the project included slope stabilization from the north to the south limits and shoreline reconstruction.

Crews will now begin working on the second phase of construction, depending on weather. This phase includes moving the current playground and installing new equipment, realigning pathways, adding more walkable surfaces, installing more “aesthetic materials” and landscape, and “possibly” including some public art.

The McCall Parks and Recreation Department wrote that the park could reopen on Memorial Day weekend.

The project also calls for a third and fourth phase, which would add more pathways, but the city says that’s dependent on funding.

During construction, flaggers will control traffic as needed. Businesses on E. Lake St. will stay open throughout.
