Meridian brewery Loose Screw is under new ownership

Meridian’s Loose Screw Beer Company is now under new ownership.

The brewery is now being led by local husband and wife Mike and Pam Garcia. Loose Screw is in North Meridian at 5111 W McMillan Road.

This change comes just a couple of years after Bethany and Chris Hughes purchased and rebranded the Garden City Brewery Bella Brewing to Loose Screw. At the time BoiseDev reported that the Hughes had plans to expand to Meridian.

The Garcias applauded the former owners for the work they did and said they “look forward to taking what has already been accomplished and elevating it to the next level.”

The letter from Loose Screw says all current staff will remain.

Prior to this endeavor, Mike worked in commercial finance for two decades. Garcia’s focus was on food and beverage manufacturing.

“Mike and Pam believe in community engagement and value collaboration with other local small businesses. Mike is fortunate that his corporate career has supported his philanthropic passion,” the news release said. “… They plan to use this opportunity as a small business owners to make the already wonderful community of Meridian even better.”

Loose Screw calls itself family-friendly. There are nonalcoholic drinks and have water dishes and treats for dogs.

Loose Screw operates Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. It briefly closed in early April for general maintenance and improvements that include an expanded patio with a “new vibe.”
