The French Whisk is now open in Downtown Boise – and it’s serving up something sweet. On the menu? Specialty-made macarons – a meringue-based sandwich cookie made with almond flour, egg whites, and sugar.
“I have lived in Idaho off and on since 1998, and Boise doesn’t have anything like it,” chef and owner Christina Murray said. “Because our city is growing like crazy, if I didn’t do it, somebody else would. And because I love France and French cuisine, I knew I had to do it.”
In addition, to opening The French Whisk, Murray is the chef educator and owner of Season and Taste cooking school in Downtown Boise.
At the French Whisk, all special orders are hand-made, 30% in-house locally, and the remaining are shipped from France.
“When we opened, I wanted The French Whisk to be small and intimate similar to what you would find in Paris,” Murray said. “I wanted a high-end environment where customers come and get a fantastic experience. The macarons are packaged in gold and pastel boxes.”
The French Whisk is open Monday – Saturday from 10:30am – 6:30pm and Sunday from 12pm – 4pm. It’s located in the Pioneer Building at 102 N. 6th St.
