Downtown Flatbread closed, space listed for lease

The Downtown Boise location of Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria has been closed in recent weeks, and now the high-profile space on 8th & Main is for lease.

As we reported in Idaho First earlier this spring, the restaurant closed due to staffing issues.

“Simply put, the lack of humans necessary to properly staff our kitchen resulting in our inability to maintain consistent operating hours has left us with having to close our doors at this location for the foreseeable future,” the note read in part.

Now, it appears the foreseeable future may be permanent. Boise commercial business sales firm Arthur Berry posted a leasing flier for the 4,000 square foot restaurant in the 8th & Main Building. The ad touts the “high visibility Downtown Boise location,” and advises that someone can swoop in and lease the space – but also purchase the existing fixtures, furniture, and equipment.

Flatbread maintains two other local locations, its original spot in Bown Crossing in SE Boise, and a location in Eagle. Flatbread also operates in Salt Lake City, UT, and Bend, OR. The owners also operate Eight Thirty Common in Downtown Meridian, in a former Flatbread location.

Flatbread joins its 8th & Main Building neighbor 8th Street Deli in closing. The deli closed during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and has not reopened. That restaurant space is also listed for lease.
