‘Meticulously maintained’: hotel located at the center of the universe listed for sale

A hotel located at the center of the universe is for sale.

Well, kind of. In 2004, Mayor Ron Garitone of Wallace, Idaho declared his city the center of the universe because no one could prove him wrong. A self-proclaimed “Center of the Universe” marker is now engraved at an intersection in Wallace’s downtown area.

Also in downtown Wallace is the two-story Ryan Hotel, which is now listed for sale. The building features 14 guest rooms described as “unique and historically charming”, an owner’s residence, and three commercial tenants on the ground floor.

“Built in 1903, the property has been meticulously maintained and amenities updated to suit today’s traveler,” the listing said.

The hotel has seen an increase of 25% in average daily rate each year, according to BizBuySell.

“The property is a favorite among guests and boasts repeat visitors who continue coming back every year,” the listing said.

The listing emphasizes the growth and tourism demand in Wallace, presenting an opportunity for potential buyers.

“Businesses are coming in because cost of entry is much lower compared to other areas and tourism demand is at an all-time high,” the listing said. “There are a few other hotels and motels in town and some vacation home rentals, but during peak season from Missoula to Spokane is completely booked.”

The 11,280 square-foot Ryan Hotel is listed with an asking price of $2,250,000 on BizBuySell.
