Boise’s Lucky 13 will close up shop this Saturday — but will be back in action soon.

The popular pizza and patio spot at Eckert Rd. and Warm Springs Ave. will serve diners through this Saturday, and then take what owner Liza Goul is calling a “sabbatical.”

“I’m gearing up to try and get the team built up again,” Goul said. “All my good people are going back to school. I had a good team in place – so I’m going to build my team with Boise State (students) as soon as they get rolling.”

She said with employees heading back to school and a few key people having summer vacations, closing up for a bit was the best option.

“I looked at the people who were left and said ‘how about a sabbatical for a couple of weeks?’ My goal is to get as many people in and trained as I can.”

Goul hopes to open back up in early September.

“I want to get people trained and up to speed. I don’t want customer service or quality to suffer at all. We’ll get the doors open just in time for it to cool off in September.”
