Staffing issues force Boise pizza shop to close

A Boise pizza joint is preparing to serve its final pies this weekend.

Pizza Pie Cafe Boise on Broadway is closing for good Saturday, October 29.

The restaurant announced the closure in a Facebook post on Tuesday saying that they are shutting down for several reasons, but mainly because they can’t hire enough staff.

“We’ve done all that we can, within our power, to hire crew, but to no avail. We are going to miss all of your smiling faces and are truly grateful for all of the love and support these last 7 and a half years,” the post reads.

Pizza Pie Cafe first opened in Rexburg, Idaho in 2003 under the name Craigo’s Gourmet Pizza. The name changed to Pizza Pie Cafe and additional locations opened around Idaho and Utah. According to the restaurant’s website, the other locations are still open. The Boise spot was the only one in the Treasure Valley.

Pizza Pie Cafe Boise is open today through Friday from 4-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-9:30 p.m.
