Nampa Gateway movie theater closes for good

Moviegoers can no longer catch a flick on the big screen at the Regal Edwards at Nampa Gateway.

A sign at the entrance says the movie theater is permanently closed and thanks patrons for their business. The theater’s website also no longer displays showtimes.

This leaves Nampa with just two remaining movie theaters: The Regal Edwards Nampa Spectrum and the Nampa Reel Theatre.

The Nampa Gateway location is the latest in a string of movie theater closures across the Treasure Valley over the past few years. BoiseDev reported the Reel Theatre on Overland in Boise closed in January and then later collapsed in June.

The Edwards Cinemas in downtown Boise closed in 2020 but Cinema West, which operates Village Cinema at the Village at Meridian, will take over the empty space.
