Downtown Boise Basque restaurant to close

A Basque restaurant known for wine and tapas will close at the end of the year.

Txikiteo, located on 14th Street in the quieter western edge of downtown Boise, announced on social media that New Years Eve will be their final night. However, the restaurant could reopen in a different location.

“The lease on our space in the Watercooler Building is up at the end of the year, giving us an opportunity to start thinking about a new year with a new direction,” Txikiteo posted.

The post goes on to say that Txikiteo will resume business as usual with the same hours until then.

“Thank you for your support over the years. Watch for an update for our next adventure,” the post reads.

Txikiteo means “pub crawl” in the Basque Language and is pronounced “chee-kee-tay-o.” The restaurant first opened in 2018.
