Idaho bank purchased, set for new name next month

A new-to-Idaho bank that quickly changed names after it launched will change names again with new ownership.

Bank of Jackson Hole opened a branch in Downtown Boise in early 2020 under the name Alpine State Bank. A few months later, the bank rebranded as Bright Bank.

Now, Bank of Jackson Hole and its Bright Bank subsidiary have new owners — and soon another new name.

National Bank Holdings bought the parent company of Bank of Jackson Hole and Bright Bank, and the deal closed in October. NBH said it would rebrand Bright Bank under its Hillcrest Bank brand starting next month.

Hillcrest operates in Utah, Texas, and New Mexico currently, and will add 12 branches in Wyoming and Idaho.

Along with the downtown Boise location, Bright Bank added branches at the Village at Meridian and in Eagle, bringing it to three local locations.

The deal is valued at $320 million.

The new Hillcrest Bank name will start appearing on December 5th.
