Those hoping to get a warm, gooey bowl of macaroni and cheese at Mad Mac will have to wait until this spring.
Mad Mac closed its location at the Boise Spectrum inside Chow Public Market and Eatery last week. The restaurant has been there for about five years and announced the closure on Facebook.
In 2017, we told you that the food truck went to a bricks and mortar location. Now, it’s going the other direction.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closing of our Mad Mac restaurant at Boise Spectrum. We can’t express enough, our immense appreciation for every single person who has come through our doors and supported our small business,” the post reads.
But there is some good news for Mad Mac fans. The Mad Mac Food Truck will be up and running in a few months. The truck is closed for the winter, as usual, and will reopen this spring.
For those who haven’t tried Mad Mac, the eatery serves up macaroni and cheese with a twist. Some of the different dishes include Taco Mac, Sully’s Sweet Pork Mac, Bacon Cheeseburger Mac, and more.
Mad Mac closed its Boise Spectrum location temporarily in May 2021 because of staffing challenges but was able to reopen later that year. Mad Mac says this closure is permanent.
