Another new restaurant is set for Bown Crossing in SE Boise.
Nara Ramen & Izakaya is set to open in the former Locavore location at the corner of Bown and E. Riverwalk Drive.
It will make the fourth location for the small Idaho and North Dakota chain, which also has locations on State St. in Boise and in Twin Falls.
Nara’s menu features a dozen different ramen options, from black garlic tonkatsu (a pork base) to shoyu (light chicken and pork with soy sauce). Other dishes include sweet tempura shrimp, takoyaki octopus, edamame, gyoza potstickers, and a seaweed salad. Pork buns, two don dishes, boba and Thai tea as well as gluten-free dishes round out the options.
“We are thrilled to announce our new location of Nara Ramen and Izakaya will be open in Bown Crossing,” Nara wrote on Facebook. They said the hope to be open next month.
A permit application with the City of Boise indicates only minor chnages will be mae to the former Locavore, with some new kitchen equipment and piping.
Nearby, a taco and drinks bar is also set to open soon. Bario will go into the former Bier:30 spot about a block away.
