New Downtown apartment complex gets name, opening timeline

The apartment complex project at 5th St. and Idaho St. in Downtown Boise is set to open this fall – and has announced its new name.

Gibson Fifth and Idaho calls back to the previous building on the corner – the Gibson Funeral Home.  That building was constructed in 1940 as the Boise Funeral Home. It sat vacant for several years before being demolished in 2017 for the new apartment project.

The six-story project has sixteen different floor plans ranging in size from 545 square feet studios to two-bedroom loft-style units at 1,238 square feet.

The project also includes a small public pocket park along Idaho Street, a rooftop deck for tenants
